Some vitals in Human Health can be tracked automatically from your Apple Health or Google Health Connect data. They can also be tracked manually through entries that you make. To check how a vital is being tracked, go to your Profile tab, tap Tracking settings, and select the Vitals button at the top of the page.
📱 What each status means
Connected
This vital is syncing from your phone's health app. You will see a watch icon and the date we last got data, like "Data received today". Our app syncs when you open it, so an older date usually just means you have not opened the app for a while.
💡 Synced vitals do not appear in your daily check-in, because they are automatically being completed in the background. You can still add a reading yourself whenever you want, using the purple + button.
❓ Says Connected, but your chart is completely blank? On iPhone, Apple Health does not tell us when a permission has been switched off, so a vital can still say Connected while your phone holds the data back. How to manage iPhone permissions for Synced Vitals
Tracked
You are logging this vital yourself. There is no watch icon, and the vital shows up in your daily check-in so you are prompted to fill it in.
❓ Want it to sync automatically instead? Your wearable needs to be sending data to your phone's health app first. How to get your wearable data into your phone's health app
Paused
You have taken a break from this vital. It leaves your daily check-in and sits in the Paused section at the bottom of the screen. All of your history stays exactly where it is.
⏸️ Changing how a Vital is tracked
- Go to your Profile tab, select Tracking settings, and tap the Vitals button at the top of the screen.
- Tap the three dots (...) on the right side of the vital you want to change.
- Pick an option from the menu that slides up.
| WHAT TO USE | WHAT HAPPENS |
|---|---|
| Nothing is deleted | |
| Disconnect Apple Health | Syncing stops and the vital moves back into your daily check-in, so you can log it yourself |
| Pause tracking | Syncing stops and the vital stays out of your check-in |
| Clears your synced entries | |
| Delete Apple Health data | Your manual entries stay. Synced entries come back next time you open the app |
| Disconnect Apple Health, then Delete Apple Health data | Your manual entries stay. Synced entries do not come back |
| Cannot be undone | |
| Delete (red, bin icon) | Everything goes, including your manual entries |
💡 Delete Apple Health data does not stop syncing. The next time you open the app, we read your phone's health app again and those entries come straight back. If you want them gone for good, tap Disconnect Apple Health first, then delete.
⚠️ The red Delete cannot be undone. You will see a confirmation screen naming the vital and how many entries you are about to remove, but it does not separate synced entries from manual ones. Check you are happy to lose your manual entries too.
