Our app reads your data from your phone's built-in health app, not from your wearable directly. So your wearable needs to be sending its data there first:
- iPhone: Apple Health
- Android: Health Connect
💡 You set this up in your wearable's own app. Menu names do shift around when these apps update, so look for Settings, then a section named something like Connected apps, Partner apps, Integrations, or Data sharing.
⌚ Apple Watch
If you are using an iPhone there is nothing to set up here. Your Apple Watch sends data to Apple Health on its own while it is paired to your iPhone.
If your data is missing, check that your watch is paired and has synced with your iPhone recently.
⚠️ Using an Apple Watch with an Android phone? An Apple Watch is designed to pair with an iPhone, and that is where its health data normally goes. There are third-party apps that can bring Apple Watch data across to Health Connect. They are made by other companies, so it is worth reading their privacy policy and reviews before you decide. We are not able to help you set them up.
Fitbit and Pixel Watch (Google Health)
The Fitbit app was replaced by Google Health in May 2026, so that is the app you need.
⚠️ Check your account first. Google Health needs an adult Google Account. If you still sign in with a Fitbit account, you will need to move it across before any of this works.
- 🍏 iPhone: open Google Health, tap Connections at the top left, then tap Partner apps (some versions say Apps and services). Select Apple Health and follow the prompts. You need Google Health 5.05 or later, and iOS 16.4 or later.
- 🤖 Android: open Google Health, tap Connections at the top left, then tap Partner apps. Under Add connections, tap Sync your favorite health apps, then tap Set up.
💡 Heart rate variability does not currently come across from Google Health to Apple Health, even when everything else does.
⚠️ Using a separate app to copy your Fitbit data across? Switch it off before you set this up. Otherwise both are writing the same data and your numbers will double up. How to fix duplicate data for Synced Vitals
Garmin
Open Garmin Connect, tap More in the bottom right, then go to Settings and tap Connected Apps. Select Apple Health or Health Connect, and choose what you want to share.
💡 Garmin only sends data one way, into your phone's health app. It sends it each time your watch syncs with Garmin Connect, so if things look behind, open Garmin Connect and let your watch sync first.
Oura
Open the Oura app, tap the menu at the top left, then tap Settings. Look for Apple Health or Health Connect, under Data Sharing or App Integrations depending on your app version. Choose what you want to share.
💡 Oura suggests opening both the Oura app and your phone's health app once a day so nothing gets missed. Oura also notes that data may not come across if Background App Refresh is switched off, or if Low Power Mode is on.
Samsung
Open Samsung Health, go to Settings, and tap Health Connect. Tap Get started the first time, then choose what you want to share and tap Allow.
Other wearables
Most wearables can send data to Apple Health or Health Connect. Open your device's own app and have a look in Settings for a section on connected apps or data sharing.
If you cannot find one, try searching your wearable company's help site for "Apple Health" or "Health Connect".
Does your device not support either one? There are third-party apps that can copy your data across. These are made by other companies, so it is worth checking what they do with your data before you use one. We are not able to help you set them up, or fix any problems they cause.
⚠️ Only reach for one of these if your device has no built-in option. If your device can connect on its own, use that instead, because running both writes the same data twice. How to fix duplicate data for Synced Vitals
✅ Check that it worked
- Open Apple Health on iPhone, or Health Connect on Android.
- Look for the vital you want, like steps or sleep.
If your health stats are showing up there, we can read them. Open our app to bring them in.
If they are not there yet, your wearable is still not sending them over. Check that your device has synced with its own app first, then have another look at your connection settings.
