AI Researcher uses what you track in Human to make the research about you. It only runs if Smart Tools is switched on, and you can switch it off at any time.
The data it reads
When you ask a question, AI Researcher reads:
| About you | Your age and sex at birth |
| Your conditions | Diagnosed and suspected |
| Your daily check-ins | How your symptoms have changed over time |
| Your treatment plan | What you take now, and what you've tried before |
| Your health events | Appointments and period tracking |
| What matters to you | Symptoms you've pinned |
It does not use your name or email address.
Right now, AI Researcher does not use data from your Vitals. Your Synced Vitals are also not included.
Smart Tools consent
Smart Tools is the setting that lets Human use your tracking in AI features, including AI Researcher. AI Researcher cannot run without it. If Smart Tools is off when you open AI Researcher, it will ask you to switch it on. See How do I turn off AI Researcher?
How we protect your data
- Your data is not used to train AI models.
- The AI runs inside Human's own cloud. AI Researcher uses Google's Gemini, running inside Human's own Google Cloud setup. Your data is processed in the United States.
- The search service never sees your record. To find research, AI Researcher sends search terms to a search service. Search terms can include a condition or medicine name, but never your name or your health record.
- Our team does not read your research. Someone at Human only looks at your research in two cases: there is a safety problem we need to investigate, or if you tell support what you searched .
- Only you can see your research. Only the account owner, or a carer on the profile, can read a profile's research.
Switching off Smart Tools stops AI Researcher, but it does not delete research you have already done. To ask us to delete your research, contact support@human.health.
