The Insights page is designed to provide you with detailed information about your symptoms and treatments in an easy to navigate format. This article explains how to interact with the data shown on the Insights page as well as what shapes your unique insights.
Most notably, the charts on the Insights page work in two distinct ways, depending on how which type of symptom it is. As a quick refresher:
What is displayed on the Insights chart?
Ongoing Impact Symptoms
We track changes in impact over time. For example, 17% decrease in fatigue in the last week.
We create a smooth trendline between your logged events.
Occasional Event Symptoms
- We track how often these symptoms occur and they appear as individual instances, not connected via a trendline
- The more frequently you log them, the higher their impact score.
You can check out the full article 'What's the difference between "Ongoing impact" versus "Occasional event" symptoms?'. If you're unsure how you've classified your symptoms into the two types, check out 'How do I manage symptom 'types'?'.
Tip: Anything you mark as Important on your Timeline will appear on your insight charts with a small icon to show which date it was logged. Certain things such as Test Results, are default marked as Important, but you can edit these at any time, including Treatments, Journal Entries, Periods and Medical History.
Switching between Symptoms and Treatments
In the top left, you can toggle between Symptoms and Treatments.
Sorting & Filtering
You can toggle between the Average (changes ranked by symptom impact) and Trend (Increase or decrease as a percentage %) by selecting the tab in the top-centre of the Insights page.
Understanding Sort Order:
- Descending Order: Sorts data from worst to best impact.
- Ascending Order: Sorts data from best to worst impact.
- Click on the Average or Trend tab to reverse the sort order (e.g., Ascending).
OR
- Select the Filter widget in the top right > Select Ascending or Descending
- Select which symptoms or treatment types you wish to view in the list
Note: You can select any symptom to view an editable chart. For Treatments, the averages and trends are shown in a thumbnail format.
Selecting Your Time Range
You can change the time range for the displayed data using the options in the top-left corner.
- Week: Shows individual symptom scores for that 7-day period.
- Month: Shows individual symptom scores for a 28 day period.
- 3 Months: The 12-week period is aggregated to a weekly view. The data is displayed as a smoothed trendline or aggregated data calculated by week.
- 6 Months: The 24-week period is aggregated to a weekly view. The data is displayed as a smoothed trendline or aggregated data calculated by week.
